Three Sisters
Three Sisters

The Three Sisters - The three pointed spheres look blurred close up. But as one distances himself, the compositions become sharply clear. Three Sisters painting is supposed to look blurred. This is exactly the opposite of the human vision: I used Gaussian blur functions to achieve this puzzling effect. I thought about the question of what makes people different, and how they are related. The three spheres have all a tiny common core of Cyan Blue colour, and the colour patterns seems similar, whereas in reality they are very different. They have common uniting elements, but each is a different individual. Anybody who has siblings will immediately understand.

Zhongguancun is Beijing's new high-tech district. Its hectic and nervous atmosphere, the artificial cold neon lights, and the pulsating rhythm of life instilling an ambiguous feeling. Chaos? Maybe. But nevertheless a sensation of large formats: A fugue in motion, reflecting and vibrating on large, raw, empty, béton-brut-styled walls.
