My Spanish Love / Seville
2008
UV Ink on Dibond
69 x 167 cm
An incredible heat, even at night. But there is always a cool breeze coming through, by the blue and white tiled patios, with their large pots of clay with that unique Spanish lavish splendour of green leaves and those splashing multi coloured flowers. Evening and night, these eternal lovers, flow together in an incredibly sensual way. It is then that the heat softens, and a gentle cool air sweeps over the city, with the domed cupola of stars jittering in mysterious hues throughout the night. Maybe, I hope, the promise will last. Such a strange night. Perhaps a Paradise, maybe, for a very short moment.
Europapark

UV Ink on Aluminum

Europapark is Germany's largest amusement park. This painting was inspired by two happy summer days I spent there with a good friend. The soft air and warm sun, the cool water, the greenery around and the peaceful looking people: All interacted in a joyful rhythm that seemed simply just, and in harmony. Imagine: A bright June afternoon that never lasts forever. Walking in a park, just being yourself, and observing the rhythm of life in all its brilliance and complexity. Perfect.
