Sonja Lotta's photography focuses in highlighting daily life scenes. She challenges and confronts their banalities with alienated aspects, to which she adds a narrative.
Sonja Lotta's artistic objectives are to enhance these scenes with new identities that inspire questions, but at the same time connects them.

"The photos series Tyrkir, Ari, Ljufa, Orlyg and Styrkar, are landscape names taken
from Icelandic Sagas. They fascinate me for their mystery. By grouping them with
the images of my childhood objects and memories, I try to create a link between them,
thus evoking a dreamlike fairy-
Sonja Lotta lives and works in Zurich, Switzerland. She has completed her BA Honors studies of Fine Art Photography at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, US in 2005, where her work was awarded several prizes. In 2007 she completed her Master degree in Fine Arts at the Glasgow School of Art. She has exhibited her work in Philadelphia, Amsterdam, Berlin, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Zurich.
